Summary:

The Financial Analyst is responsible for daily, weekly and monthly finance and accounting duties within the organization. These responsibilities include, but are not limited to daily, monthly and annual journal entry posting, creation & analysis of monthly financial performance data, account reconciliations, sales tax calculation & filing and provision of audit support.

This role will suit a detail-oriented person that can effectively communicate with all levels of the organization. Ad hoc requests are not uncommon, and this person also needs to be able to prioritize duties independently.

Day to day will see the use of multiple different software systems for reporting, analysis and insight generation amongst others. Having excellent Microsoft Excel skills will be very useful in this role, as well as being able to use other components of the Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Outlook, Word, Teams and others).

This role is vital to the effective support of the business and function of the finance & accounting department.

You’ll spend your days on the following:

  • Production and analysis of financial reporting
  • Analysis of business performance and communication of results
  • Evaluating account performance in collaboration with team members across the company
  • Budgeting and forecasting
  • Maintaining accounts related to sales and use taxes
  • Monitoring accounts receivable and notifying management of overdue invoices
  • Creating and posting journal entries and account reconciliation
  • Supporting audit by pulling requested support and discussing with auditors when necessary

Qualifications:

  • 4-year degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent working experience
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting
  • Familiarity with accounting software, proficiency with D365 would be a plus
  • Excellent excel skills
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
