Full-time, Permanent | On-site | Location: Bastrop, LA

Your Role: What Will You Be Doing?

As a Dryer Furnace Operator, you will take charge of the operation of the dryer island and all associated equipment at our production facility. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Building strong internal relationships with co-workers and supervisors.
  • Maintaining all required safety certifications.
  • Staying proficient with equipment related to your role.
  • Taking ownership of your personal development.
  • Adhering to policies and practices to ensure an effective workplace.
  • Managing internal and external relationships.
  • Sharing your expertise and knowledge with the team.
  • Training with shift control room operators to become certified in operating the Dryer Island controls.
  • Driving a culture of health, safety, and environmental accountability.
  • Proactively cross-training in various plant roles.
  • Using daily checklists to maintain optimal performance of the plant's drying capabilities.
  • Completing production log sheets and other related paperwork.
  • Monitoring gauge readings and making necessary adjustments.
  • Performing housekeeping duties to keep designated areas clean and safe.
  • Collaborating with the maintenance team to troubleshoot issues.
  • Approaching challenges with a Continuous Improvement mindset.
  • Working with supervisors to propose business improvements.
  • Predicting operational adjustments based on weather and other factors.

Who You Are: Qualifications

You possess the following:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3-5 years of industrial experience.
  • The ability to adapt to both team and independent work environments.
  • Skills in maintaining and adjusting equipment to maximize production.
  • A professional attitude and the ability to work well with others.
  • Demonstrated electrical and/or mechanical aptitude.
  • A commitment to promoting a safe working environment.
  • Experience operating loaders, forklifts, manlifts, and other mobile equipment.
  • Ability to use HMI interfaces for operational adjustments.
