Department Summary The University of Oregon Intercollegiate Athletic Department's primary purpose is to provide a unique opportunity for student-athletes to be developed, tested, and encouraged to reach their maximum potential in every aspect of their lives. It is the steadfast goal of the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics to provide the most outstanding student-athlete experience by helping them to achieve excellence, both in the classroom and in their chosen sport. The department has approximately 280 administrative & classified employees, hosts over 600,000 spectators annually, and represents the University of Oregon in athletic competition with other universities & colleges. Position Summary In collaboration with the Chief Health Officer, is responsible for organization and administration of autonomous healthcare delivery for student athletes. Supervisory responsibilities include direct supervision of OA full-time athletic training staff, assistance with budget review and quality improvement. Supervised by the Director of Athletic Medicine. Responsible for promoting the mission and objectives of the Intercollegiate Athletics Department, including adherence to all department policies and procedures, as well as the rules and regulations of the University of Oregon, BIG 10 Conference and the NCAA.

  • Master’s degree in athletic training or a related field.
  • Current BOC ATC Certification.
  • 5 years of full-time experience providing Athletic Training support for intercollegiate and/or elite level athletes.
  • Advanced training in movement assessment, rehabilitation principles, and manual therapy techniques.
  • Eligibility for licensure as an ATC in the state of Oregon.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain and maintain a University of Oregon Driver's Certification.
  • Demonstrates strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with others from diverse backgrounds while promoting inclusion and supporting diverse needs of individuals.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a healthcare delivery team including performance and S/C specialists.
  • Excellent problem solving and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications · Demonstrates advanced professional competencies such as leadership, mentorship, teambuilding, problem solving, innovation, and strategic thinking. · Experience providing medical services and rehabilitation programming and as part of performance team for elite intercollegiate athletes.
